Since Apple is pretending the netbook market doesn't exist, I have been considering making my own. Only problem is, there is a small learning curve to climb. Not insurmountable, but I lack both time and motivation, and would much rather pay someone I know to do it for me. Looking to have OSX 10.6.1 loaded on a pair of somethings other than an Acer. Anyone interested?|
So, could I talk you into it?
Maybe. I have to confess I've never done a Hackintosh before. (I find the MacBook 13.3" to be adequate for my needs.)
This is primarily for my kids. Also, having a disposable machine to take to the god-foresaken shitholes I call "work" would be helpful.

Well, if it works, I will contemplate getting/making one for MY daughter.
Is that a yes? Shit, I'll buy you one for your daughter as payment, courtesy of Unlce Sugar's Gravy Train.
I'll check with my favorite IT guy next week. He is a former MacGenious and has already built himself one (Dell based w/ a convicing Apple sticker on the lid).
Although I hear a used last gen apple makes a fair netbook.
If you can find one. This actually comes out cheaper.
I understand the Dell 10v is nearly ideal.

The hackintosh probably has a better warrenty to, especially if you have enough HD to go dual boot. Which would be a nice backup if someone accidentally installs the brick patch.
True. The G4's are all long past warrenty, and nobody who has one is willing to let go of it at this point. And then there's the brick patch; this time I make myself the admin and lock out everyone else.
