What really blows my mind on all this is that the Court was asked, and widely expected, to make a fairly narrow ruling on the status of CU under McCain-Feingold (which law I have always found somewhat troubling) . Instead we get the destruction of 102 years of federal campaign finance law. I will curb stomp the next neocon fuck that complains about "judicial overreach."

So what? It's not like it was hard to buy a congress critter last week. Take half a look the latest health bills (RIP) and tell me Congress and the President are not owned by big biz & big labor. That goes double the various stimuli and bailouts.

I say worse case status quo, with any luck some churn. Every campaign finance law I can think of apears to have one goal, protect incumbants.

I just hope The Court has a little activism left for McDonald. Let's see if they can't roll 2A law back a mere 52 years. Although I'd settle for 24 years.
